Biographical Information
William Charles Davis Jr.

William Charles Davis Jr. was born on February 19, 1952 in Lake City FL. He grew up in Jacksonville, Florida and was raised in a Pentecostal home. While attending the Arlington Church of God, at the age of twenty, he believed he was “called” into the ministry and began preaching. The following year he was married to Debra Crews who was a member of the Springfield Church of God. Bill was educated through the Church of God preacher training courses and received an Exhorters certificate. In the fall of 1978 Bill joined the Assemblies of God denomination and was licensed to preach with them. He continued his education through the Assemblies of God institution known at the time as the Berean Bible School. He became an Ordained minister with the Assemblies of God in May of 1983. Later, he received an Associates of Theology Degree from Slidell Baptist Seminary.

Bill “pastored” churches in Lewistown MT, Jacksonville FL, Cross City FL, Lynn Haven FL, and Pensacola FL. Beginning in 1996 through 1999 Bill and Debra made four trips to Finland, preaching and holding “Catch the Fire” conferences in various churches.

Through the years however, Bill experienced a growing discontentment with Pentecostalism. In an effort to find truth, he continued to study and examine different denominations only to find that each one fell short of the mark. Finally, while reading John 3:5, where Jesus said Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God; Bill realized, water baptism was a requirement in order to be saved. He also realized that his denomination as well as all of the others distorted this truth in some way. There was only one group, to his knowledge, that taught exactly what Jesus and the apostles said about baptism and that was the church of Christ. After accepting this fact, Bill set up and appointment to meet with Ken Burleson, preacher of the church of Christ at Milestone, Pensacola, Florida. At that initial meeting, it could be said that Brother Burleson expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly (Acts 18:36). Bill continued to study, attending classes at the Northwest Florida School of Biblical Studies. Bill and his wife Debra were baptized into Christ in February of 2009.
