Germaine Charles Lockwood

Germaine Charles Lockwood was born on July 17, 1930 at Grand Haven, Michigan, U.S.A. He received a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan State University and a graduate degree from the Chrysler Institute of Engineering. After working as a registered professional engineer for six years, he taught mathematics and engineering for two years. In 1953, while in graduate school, he was baptized into Christ.

From 1961 to 1968 he served as an evangelist for churches of Christ in Sweden.

After that he attended Harding University Graduate School where he earned an M.A. in Christian Doctrine. He taught for two years at Michigan Christian College and taught Russian language studies at Oklahoma Christian University for four years. He was fluent in both Swedish and Russian.

His best-known publication is The Origin of the Cosmos and the Evidences of God which has also been translated into Russian, Romanian, Slovakian and Chinese.

He served as an evangelist in Des Moines, Iowa from 1970-1977. He moved to Oklahoma City in 1977 and began working with the Wilshire congregation in Edmond, Oklahoma in 1982, which sponsored his radio work.

In 1971 he began producing a Russian radio program with Yvan Mikhailovich Kolesnikow. He continued the production of gospel broadcasts in Russian until his death. In 1973 he began working toward the establishment of a short-wave radio station broadcasting from Alaska. This project was continued by World Christian Broadcasting in 1983.

In 1991 he began international radio broadcasts in English entitled Eternal Good News and continued as the speaker for this program until his death in 2004.

Germaine's wife, Sandra, was a librarian at Oklahoma Christian University. Germain had three children, Philip, Nancy (Gates) and Stephen.

Germaine went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 11, 2004.
