Marion Joy Jacobs was born January 10, 1930, at Meyronne, Saskatchewan. Her parents are Robert and Nellie Tetreau. She attended Lark Hill country school, Radville Christian College (1948-49 commercial course), and the Moose Jaw Business College (1949, fall semester).
On June 16, 1951, she married Floyd Randal Jacobs of Minton, Saskatchewan. Their children, are Dwayne (1952), Lewis (1953), Shelley (1959), and Randal (1962).
Before her marriage, Marion was employed at Simpson's, Regina (1950-51 March), in the payroll department. Then for 15 years she was a farm lady at Willen, Manitoba (1952-67). At Western Christian College, she served in the cafeteria as a cook (1967-86) and as co-manager (1974-86). She worked as a seamstress at Taylor Nooks, North Weyburn (1986-89).
In the community and church area, Marion has taught children's Bible classes at both Manson and Weyburn, cooked and taught at Clearview Christian Camp (five or more summers), has been an active member of the Women's Service Club (1967-89), and was coordinator for the Meals-on-Wheels at Weyburn (two and one half years). For her labours in the Meals-on-Wheels program, she has received an Appreciation Certificate from the Weyburn Home Care Association.
Personal note: Marion says that feelings of depression were short-lived when in contact with the college young people. They have a natural "lift-me-up" quality she says. Marion has also appreciated the happy, pleasant atmosphere in her work place - The Morgan Cafeteria.
